And then it happened

And then it happened....before my eyes...I looked up and you were 3! The past 3 years are like a blur of white light. Where did they go and how do I get them back?

The sleepless nights as a newborn are but distant memories. The days of trying new foods and weening you from the bottle seem so long ago. The fights and battles over your pacifier seem so frivolous now. And your favorite things of ago have been traded for prized possessions of today...Elmo slippers exchanged for princess dress up shoes, Barney for Barbie, Dora for Belle, stroller rides for scooter rides, footed sleepers for satin nightgowns.

Now all I see is this beautiful little girl standing in front of me...not the baby or toddler that I thought I saw just yesterday. Now all I see is a little girl who wants to do everything on her own. A little girl who wants to grow up just as fast as her big brother. I wish I could slow down the hands of time and you could be 3 forever!

Happy Birthday My Princess Pea!! I love you!

Hurricane Martin

I first experienced Hurricane Martin back in the winter of 1995 when I transfered to our dear alma mater, College of Charleston or AKA College of Knowledge. Martin and I were neighbors, but it wasn't until our graduating weekend of May of 1998 that I truly got to know Martin other than a neighbor or friend. It has been love ever since! We were married on May 19, 2001 and since have had two beautiful children! Martin is a wonderful husband and father. He enjoys playing his guitar and listening to good music. We enjoy traveling and seeing our favorite bands. He also loves hanging out with our friends and playing with our two little hurricanes!

Hurricane Jackson

Hurricane Jackson hit Charleston, South Carolina on April 21, 2004. He was a category 3 also weighing in at 7 lbs. 8 oz. Since touching down 5 years ago, his impact has been nothing but normal or quiet. A dear friend of mine summed up Jackson as a small loud little boy with a huge imagination. The huge imagination is an understatement. Everyday his world is filled with good vs. evil battles anywhere from Star Wars to Batman. He loves creating spaceships and towers from legos. He loves swimming and playing with his friends. He loves reading good books and hanging out with his mommy and daddy.

Hurrciane Princess Parsons

Hurricane Parsons hit Columbia South Carolina on February 16, 2008. She was a category 3 only weighing in at 7 lbs. 1 oz. But from the get go she has been a force in the Harper household. For the most part she is the eye of the storm, sweet and calm but when stirred up she unleashes her path of destruction. She is a red head by nature only showing her temperment when messed with by her older brother. She keeps us laughing by always smiling and dancing. She loves her baby doll and her mommy. She loves giving kisses and hugs. She especially loves eating!
